These snails should not be underestimated, a great predator of the nuisance that is the Vermetid snail and they can eat serious amounts of detritus and waste , they are also invaluable as the burrow in the sand making sure your sand bed/ substrate is kept in tip top condition, which in turn helps maintain adequate oxygen levels within the substrate. These guys will burrow into the sand and munch away at waste and uneaten food and are a must have for any reef aquarium with a sand bed. They will also get in amongst small crevices and eat waste and decomposing organisms. They great to look at with their dark shells and vibrant yellow bumble bee hoops.
It is advised to add one snail for every 2 gallons of water.
These snails require to be acclimatised slowly over a period of hours using the drip method.
